During a recent United Auto Workers union rally, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a far-left member of the 'Squad' from Michigan, chose not to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president. Tlaib, the only Palestinian-American in Congress, has been vocal in her criticism of the Biden-Harris administration's stance on Israel following the tragic terror attack on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the loss of 1,500 lives.
Her decision to withhold an endorsement from Harris holds significance, especially considering Michigan's status as one of the crucial 'blue wall' states that Democrats consider essential for defeating former President Trump.
Instead of throwing her support behind Harris, Tlaib urged voters to exercise their right to vote on Election Day. She emphasized the power that individuals possess in shaping the political landscape, stressing the importance of combating corporate greed and ensuring that voters pay attention to the nonpartisan aspects of the ballot.
At the UAW rally, Tlaib was joined by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York, another member of the 'Squad,' and UAW president Shawn Fain. Both Ocasio-Cortez and Fain endorsed Harris for president.
