Rep. Ronny Jackson Demands Drug Test From President Biden

Ronny Jackson

Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, a former White House physician turned House lawmaker, has sent a letter to President Biden and his physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, demanding that Biden undergo a drug test before the upcoming Presidential Debate with former President Trump. Jackson specifically requested a 'clinically validated drug test' to be conducted both before and after the debate, including screening for performance-enhancing drugs.

In his letter, Jackson emphasized the importance of ensuring the American public's confidence in the President's ability to fulfill the duties of the office. He highlighted the significance of debates in providing insight into candidates' policy positions, leadership qualities, and ability to perform under pressure.

Referencing concerns about Biden's age and cognitive performance, Jackson pointed to a Wall Street Journal report and previous calls for Biden to undergo a cognitive exam. He also raised questions about Biden's behavior during the State of the Union address, alleging signs of potential drug use.

Notably, Jackson mentioned that President Trump had set a precedent by undergoing cognitive testing during his presidency. He criticized Biden's refusal to address concerns about his mental and physical fitness for duty.

Before his tenure in Congress, Jackson served as the White House physician under both Trump and Obama. A vocal supporter of Trump, Jackson endorsed the former president's 2024 presidential bid and has been a proponent of drug testing for Biden.

Responding to queries about whether Trump should also undergo drug testing, Jackson's spokesperson highlighted that the concern was specific to Biden's recent behavior and demeanor changes. The White House, through spokesman Andrew Bates, dismissed Jackson's comments by drawing a comparison to a fictional character known for questionable medical practices.
