Democratic Rep. Pat Ryan, representing a battleground district in New York, recently expressed his belief that Vice President Kamala Harris leading the Democratic ticket could significantly benefit the electoral prospects of Democrats at all levels.
Ryan highlighted Harris's ability to draw a sharp, clear, and energizing contrast, emphasizing the importance of the choice, stakes, and consequences in the upcoming elections. He commended her for taking command of the campaign and race, which he believes has unsettled her opponent.
As one of the early voices calling for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, Ryan urged Harris to proactively address challenges such as the crisis at the southern border.
When asked about Harris's potential running mate, Ryan voiced his support for Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, whom he described as someone who has excelled in his role.
