Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accused of hypocrisy after defending boyfriend’s drag video

Twitter users are accusing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene after the far-right lawmaker, known for her attacks on drag artists, defended a past drag performance by her boyfriend.

“I’m literally lol’ing,” the Georgia Republican tweeted Monday. “Brian Glenn dressed in drag for morning news in Dallas years ago reporting on an upcoming local theatre production and the morons over at Patriot Takes think this is an attack.”

Progressive Twitter feed Patriot Takes had posted the clip showing Glenn dressed in pantyhose, a wig and a dress while covering a play called “A Tuna Christmas” as a reporter.

Greene is notorious for spewing anti-LGBTQ rhetoric during her time in Congress, including the denunciation of drag queens as “groomers,” echoing vile conspiracy theories.

Twitter users immediately accused Greene of hypocrisy, noting many children likely saw Glenn dressed as a woman on morning television.

“The morning news where thousands of children are watching while eating their breakfast,” tweeted one Greene critic.

It was also pointed out to Greene that what she called an “attack” was a response to comments she’s made about entertainers in drag. She ranted on the House floor in March that transgender people were part of a plot to sexualize children, according to Raw Story.

“We have had enough of drag queens gyrating in front of children and the public square!” Greene raged. “These groomers and child predators must be stopped.”

One of her critics on Twitter took issue with Greene’s claim Patriot Takes had staged an “attack” against herself and Glenn.

“Actually Patriot Takes is pointing out your hypocrisy but you’re too stupid to realize that,” that person tweeted.

“Oookk,” Glenn tweeted in his lover’s defense along with a clown emoticon.
