Republican Rep. Byron Donalds, representing southwest Florida, discussed the ongoing efforts to rebuild his district following the devastation caused by consecutive hurricanes. He emphasized the importance of restoring power throughout the entire county to facilitate the completion of the rebuilding process.
While federal and local relief initiatives continue in Florida, former President Donald Trump made headlines during a rally in California by suggesting that federal aid for future forest fires could be withheld if the state did not revise its environmental regulations. Donalds echoed some of Trump's criticisms, highlighting the need for California to address forest fire risks by clearing underbrush. However, he refrained from endorsing a complete cutoff of federal assistance to the state.
