Reo Hatate on the Celtic mantra Ange Postecoglou won't let him forget as he opens up on Parkhead 'difficulties'

Celtic star Reo Hatate revealed that Ange Postecoglou has told him to "play without fear of mistakes" sparking his instant Parkhead impact.

Hatate made an impression on Celtic fans with an electrifying derby display against Rangers with his two goals capping a man-of-the- match performance.

However, since then the January J-League recruit has been in mixed form with Postecoglou keeping the faith in the Japan call-up.

The 24-year-old has spoken about the message his is given by the Australian before each match and his delight at the backing from the Celtic Park gaffer.

But he reckons he is still finding his feat in the Scottish Premiership after the window window move.

Reo Hatate admits there has been an adjustment period to life at Celtic (SNS Group)

Speaking to the Japanese media while on international duty, Hatate said: "At first I felt that I was able to join in a very good way with results, but it was not so easy.

"In the meantime, there were various difficulties in terms of conditions and so on.

"I think it's been two months with both good and bad things.

"Under my current coach, I'm really told to find a space, or to find a position where I can be free. I am very conscious of it.

"In the first place, the environment is different from Japan, and the pitch conditions and climate are different, so it took a lot of time to get used to it.

"The manager tells me to play in such a part without fear of mistakes, and it took me a long time to get used to the environment.

"I think that support was great, so thanks to the team. I don't know, but I think I'm getting used to it gradually."
