Tenants in London are set to spend a record 55 per cent of their household income on rent and domestic bills this year as the living costs crisis grips the UK.

The combination of rent and household bills has climbed from 49 per cent of income 10 years ago. It is up one per cent on last year versus a UK average of 54 per cent, against a backdrop of rising rents, inflation, interest rates and energy costs, along with stagnating wage growth.
