The mother of Renee Good, the U.S. citizen fatally shot by an immigration officer in Minneapolis in January, told lawmakers that she voted for President Donald Trump in part because she believed federal agents would protect Americans, but now says her daughter's death shows the need for accountability.
"I voted for President Trump under the impression that these agents were here to protect the citizens of the United States," Donna Ganger told Democratic lawmakers at a congressional forum. She described herself as a registered Republican and said her daughter "should still be alive."
