Renan Lodi’s harmless prank turned Neymar into a cartoon villain

Everyone loves a light little prank fight. You put a small cup of water over your friend’s bedroom door, and they respond by placing a plastic spider on your kitchen counter. Everybody enjoys a hearty laugh and goes about their merry way.

That is unless you’re Neymar.

Recently, Renan Lodi—Neymar’s teammate with Saudi Pro League Club Al Hilal—started a prank fight by tying knots into Neymar’s shoes. You would think Neymar would respond by perhaps putting sugar in his salt shaker. You know, something mostly harmless and easily replaceable.

Dearest readers that is not what happened at all. Neymar responded by slashing the tires on Lodi’s car (???) like a bona fide cartoon villain.

I mean, seriously, what the heck, man?

Neymar took this way too far, way too fast. A prank fight should never end like this! There should be some kind of code, especially between teammates and friends.

Note to self: Don’t be like Neymar next time someone hides behind a door to scare me.
