What you need to know
- One of 2023's biggest games was Remnant 2, a sequel to the popular Remnant: For The Ashes that blends Soulslike gameplay systems with third-person shooting and some hack-and-slash melee mechanics.
- The action RPG released one year ago today on July 25, and has had two DLCs since: The Awakened King and The Forgotten Kingdom. A third and final one is coming, too, and has now been revealed as "The Dark Horizon."
- The Dark Horizon is coming in September 2024 to Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PS5, and in it, "players will return to the necropolis world of N’Erud only to discover that a bizarre phenomenon has taken hold."
- Developer Gunfire Games is also creating a new game mode and progression system that will be available to all Remnant 2 players for free, regardless of whether or not they own the game's DLCs. Currently, it's unclear if this mode will release with The Dark Horizon or at another time.
