Remedy and Epic Games’ Alan Wake Switch port is out now, with no advance warning, and just in time for the Halloween season. While we knew the survival horror game‘s Switch port would be a thing, Remedy kept quiet after first announcing the port in May 2022 and never provided a release date or even timeframe beyond sometime in the fall.
“Troubled author Alan Wake embarks on a desperate search for his missing wife, Alice,” the game’s description reads. “When Alan discovers pages of a horror story he has supposedly written, Wake’s grip on reality is threatened as he confronts the darkness closing in. The horror story is coming true.”
Alan Wake Remastered on Switch will set you back $29.99 – $23.99 for a short time thanks to a launch-day discount – and it comes with both previous DLC story episodes, “The Signal” and “The Writer.”
Alan Wake first released in 2010, and the remastered version features enhanced graphics and cutscenes, though no other improvements, and no 4K option, unlike its PC and console counterpart that released in 2021.
A sequel from Remedy is also in the works, though Remedy has shown little of Alan Wake 2 beyond a brief teaser trailer and apparently has no plans to show more any time in the near future.
