Relief from demolition unlikely for farmhouse owners in Noida

NOIDA: The Noida Authority is unlikely to give any concession to the owners of farmhouses who have raised objections against its demolition drive. In a draft reply to the petitions submitted by the farmhouse owners, the Authority has iterated that the properties are built on the floodplains of the Yamuna and are liable to be razed to the ground, sources said.

Over May and June, the Authority has demolished 124 farmhouses, including three clubs. It has also declared 1,000 farmhouses illegal and announced they would be demolished too.
