A number of bus routes vital for commuters in and around Wishaw have been saved.
Last month, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) confirmed to councillors that five First services were due to cease operating a number of SPT contracted services from February 4.
The buses affected are: 93 Coltness - Wishaw - Netherton; 193 Parkside - Pather; 210 Wishaw General Hospital - Law - Carluke; 244 Forgewood - Motherwell - North Lodge and 251 Larkhall - Wishaw General Hospital.
However, the five routes have now been saved with JMB Travel taking over from First from February 5 onwards.
Murdostoun SNP councillor Cameron McManus is delighted the services will be maintained.
He said: “I’m really pleased because the services are vitally important to the communities they serve.
“The big thing for people to know is that there are no changes to the timetable or routes so we will carry on as normal.
“Hopefully this provides reassurance of continuing services following the withdrawal of First Glasgow.”
