A 12-year-old girl from Ayr who had been missing for eight days has now been found, her relieved family have confirmed.
Jamie-Lee Harvie was missing for more than a week after last being seen on Tuesday, March 14, at Irvine train station. A relative has today (March 22) posted on social media that she is now "in good hands" after being found earlier on.
The young girl mysteriously vanished without a trace and a sighting of the youngster was reported near Irvine Royal Academy on Saturday March 18 but news was dry on the ground, prompting a renewed police appeal on Tuesday, the Record reports.

A member of Jamie-Lee's family has took to social media on Wednesday to inform those following the search that she has been found and is safe. Police then confirmed she had been found safe in the Irvine area.
Her uncle Steven Harvie wrote on Facebook: "My wee niece Jamie-Lee has now been found. Since the disappearance on Tuesday the 14th March after 8 days she has just recently been found.
"Thanks to everyone in their contribution to finding her. From getting it posted over social media platforms to some people going out their way to find her, thank you."
Those who have been following the case have expressed joy at the youngster's safe return. One wrote: "Thank goodness so happy for you all, she’s been in my thoughts for days now great outcome."
Steven has detailed the searches for Jamie Lee on his Facebook page over the last eight days. He said the family had searched across Ayrshire and scoured CCTV in a bid to work out where she might have gone.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Jamie-Lee Harvie, 12, who had been missing from Ayr since Tues, 14 March has been traced safe and well by officers in the Irvine area this afternoon.
"Thank you to everyone who assisted in the search for Jamie-Lee, and thank you to members of the public for sharing our appeal."
