Regional Mexican music is mourning the death of Germán Medina, a 21-year-old singer from Nayarit, Mexico, who died alongside audio engineer Olaf Rubio Merino in a highway crash early Monday, Aug. 17.
Medina had been returning from a performance in San Blas when the accident occurred on the Tepic-Matanchén highway, near the Mecatán bridge in Nayarit. Hours earlier, the rising musician had shared an Instagram Story of himself singing and playing accordion to the song 'El noble,' in what became one of his final social media posts.
