Regan Gascoigne has secured his first major role since his Dancing on Ice win last year, joining the cast of Take That musical Greatest Days, alongside Strictly Come Dancing star Kym Marsh.
Regan, son of football legend Paul 'Gazza' Gascoigne, skated his way to victory on the ITV show, alongside professional partner Karina Manta, with the pair wowing both the judges and viewers at home with a wide range of routines, including their superb Mary poppins performance in the final, as Regan's sister Bianca and mum Sheryl watched on, crying tears of joy in the studio audience.
After staying largely away from the limelight, other a stint in pantomime over Christmas, Regan made a very brief return to Dancing on Ice for this year's final, skating onto the rink alongside Brendan Cole, who he beat last year, to promote a competition, before Nile Wilson took the title at the end of the new series.
And now trained dancer and actor Regan has been confirmed to be making a return to the stage in Greatest Days, a revamp of The Band, the Take That inspired show that arrived in Newcastle on tour back in 2018.
The musical has had a rebrand to Greatest Days to tie in with the soon to be released film of the same name and Regan will play one of the boyband who are central to the plot.
Greatest Days, worked on by Take That themselves, revolves around a group of teenage friends who finally get to see their favourite group live as their prepare to go their separate ways after doing their GCSES. Their lives then take an unexpected and tragic turn, before they are thrown together again two decades later.
Regan's on stage bandmates are Kalifa Burton, Jamie Corner, Archie Durrant and Ale O'Reilly, with Greatest Days also seeing pop star and Strictly contestant Kym starring alongside her daughter Emilie Cunliffe.
Greatest Days will be at Theatre Royal Newcastle from May 29 - May 3, with tickets on sale now.
