Manchester United fans have voiced their outrage after it was reported that James Garner was 'surprised' to hear about the club's decision to put him on the transfer list.
The 21-year-old returned to Old Trafford this summer after his second spell on loan at Nottingham Forest came to an end. Garner impressed during his time at the City Ground as he helped Forest secure promotion to the Premier League, making 41 Championship appearances during the successful campaign.
However, MEN Sport recently reported that Erik ten Hag is willing to let the youngster leave this summer, with talkSport now claiming that the news caught Garner off guard.

Many felt as though Garner had earnt the right to be handed a chance at Old Trafford this season, with his performances at Forest playing a huge part in their promotion push. Despite Ten Hag's desperation to bolster his midfield ranks, Garner has been deemed surplus to requirements, with the latest reports leaving United fans furious at the way he has been treated.
