- He was also greeted with a message from co-president Rosario Murillo, who is sanctioned by the UK for human rights abuses.
- Mr Candy, who became Reform's treasurer after defecting from the Conservatives in 2024, did not directly meet Ms Murillo or her husband, Daniel Ortega.
- The Labour Party criticised Reform UK, saying that Nigel Farage and his team consistently fail to act in Britain's national interest, citing this visit as an example.
