Reds in Paris pack out Liverpool fan zone and surrounding streets

Excitement is building in Paris as Liverpool supporters pack out its fan zone and surrounding streets.

Between 50,000 and 60,000 Liverpool supporters are believed to have travelled to the French capital ahead of the Red's Champions League final clash. A fan zone is set up in Paris for the thousands of supporters hoping to watch the team bring home its seventh Champions League trophy.

Footage from the fan zone, near the Cours de Vincennes area in the south-east of Paris, shows Reds fans enjoying an afternoon of music and entertainment ahead of tonight's kick off. The event started at 2pm with Jamie Webster, the Lightning Seeds and John Power set to perform.

The ECHO has spoken to fans surrounding the Liverpool fan park. One fan said: “They don’t do it like this anywhere else.”

Images show fans gathered on surrounding streets with some taking over statues at Place de la Nation. Red berets, shirts and banners have transformed the French capital as the Champions League final truly takes over the city.

French Police confirmed that at around 4.30pm the Liverpool fan park was two-thirds full. The Real Madrid fan park is believed to be at full capacity.
