Around 8:30 a.m. PT, the social platform Reddit began suffering an outage, with the main feed showing errors and over 5,000 reports on the outage tracking site Down Detector.
The official Reddit status page quickly showed that the site's engineers were investigating an issue.
The outage didn't last long. After a spike of close to 110,000 reports on Down Detector things quickly turned down after Reddit implemented a fix.
Overall, the outage lasted about an hour.

"We've encountered an error"
I tried checking my personal Reddit account and I keep getting this "We've encountered an error" message.
Right now, the official Reddit status page shows "Degraded performance" for the desktop and mobile apps.
Over 75,000 and rising
On Down Detector I'm seeing over 75,000 and even since taking that screenshot it's spiked over 100,000 reports as more people report in.
A quick break?
The official Reddit status page says the video has been identified and a fix is "being implemented."
I have been able to see the feed after some refreshing.
However, we're going to keep tracking since we're still seeing reports and social comments with people not being able to access the site. So the fix may not be out for everyone yet.
Reports going down
At one point we saw a spike over 100,000 reports on Down Detector, but now it's dropped down to 61,000 and appears to be going down.
Basically over
Whatever took down Reddit looks like it's been pretty much resolved. Reports on DD are down to 5,500 reports.
The status page still shows degraded performance but things seem to be settling.
