You've heard about the fire brigade being called out to rescue cats stuck in trees, but what about dogs?

Thankfully, his fall was broken by a tree, but that still left him two to three metres off the ground with his owner unable to get to him.

Using a ladder, skills and brute force, firefighters managed to reunite the dog safely with his owner Ray.

A spokesperson for Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 3.27pm to a red setter that had fallen from the cliff edge into a tree that was approximately 2-3 m high.

"Crew attended from Wooler and was safely rescued at 4.10pm."
