John Mitchell, the England head coach, believes that the introduction of a smaller ball could lead to more contestable kicking in the women’s game with the Red Roses boss unsure of the consequences of a controversial trial.
As first revealed by The Independent, a smaller, bespoke size 4.5 ball will be in use throughout the international fixtures that form part of the reshaped WXV Global Series this September and October.
