Red Bull have pulled the covers back on the livery of their new RB19 car to be used in the upcoming 2023 Formula 1 season.
Earlier this week, Haas became the first team on the grid to show off their new design, debuting a sleek black and white effort which went down generally well with fans. Red Bull have now followed suit with a livery which stays true to the team's well-established branding.
Like many car launches over the next few weeks, this is a livery reveal rather than an actual look at the design of the vehicle itself. Teams are going to keep their cards close to their chests until at least pre-season testing, which begins later this month.
But it still offers Red Bull fans a first look at the paint job that will be on Max Verstappen's car as he bids to secure his third drivers' title in a row. Contributions from Sergio Perez will also be vital with the team gunning for a successful defence of their constructors' championship crown.
If the RB19 proves to be anywhere near as competitive as its predecessor, then they will have a very good chance of achieving exactly that. It remains to be seen how their new car will stack up, in terms of performance, compared to the creations of their main title rivals Ferrari and Mercedes.
Speaking live at the event, Verstappen said it was the first time he had laid his eyes upon the design. "Our livery has been pretty similar for a couple of years, but it's a cool looking car. We've had a lot of success, so why do we need to change it?"
Team principal Christian Horner said of the new car livery: "Obviously the regulations are very stable, so it's taking all the lessons we learned from the RB18 that was, of course, our most successful ever car.
"There are some subtle aerodynamic changes that affect all of the teams, and so harnessing and trying to optimise those is one of the challenges. The tyres are slightly different this year as well, within the new regulations, but RB19 draws on all the strengths of our most successful ever car."
At the event, it was also announced that Ford have joined up with Red Bull as an official technical partner to its powertrains division. That partnership will officially begin from the 2026 season, when new F1 power unit regulations come into force.
