The Met Office has issued a Red Warning for Storm Eunice, coming into force at 7am on Friday.
Storm Eunice will cause significant disruption and dangerous conditions due to extremely strong winds on Friday - with a five hour red warning across a swathe of the country.
Amber warnings are in place for almost the whole of England and Wales, with a yellow warning stretching up through Scotland and Northern Ireland.
A Met Office spokesman said: "Extremely strong west to southwesterly winds will develop over southwest England and south Wales early on Friday.
"Widespread inland gusts of 70-80 mph are likely and up to around 90 mph near some coasts, with dangerous conditions on beaches and seafronts. Winds are expected to ease from the west during the late morning."

- Damage to buildings and homes, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down
- Uprooted trees are likely
- Roads, bridges and railway lines closed, with delays and cancellations to bus, train, ferry services and flights
- Power cuts affecting other services, such as mobile phone coverage
- Large waves and beach material being thrown onto coastal roads, sea fronts and homes, including flooding of some coastal properties
The red warning covers parts of the South West and South Wales and lasts until 12pm.
The amber warning for most of England and Wales runs from 5am to 9pm on Friday.
There are also two yellow warnings for the north of the country, Scotland and Northern Ireland forecasting wind and snow.
