This is the heart-stopping moment when a reckless lout was caught doing a wheelie on a dirt bike with a child on board.
The man driving the green motorcycle was seen performing the dangerous stunt on Broomhouse Road in Edinburgh on Tuesday afternoon. In the short clip, which was captured on a dash-cam and sent to the Record, the man can be seen dressed wearing a black jacket and dark green trousers.
A young boy wearing an orange jacket is seen sitting on the vehicle in front of him, balanced with his legs sticking out around the front wheel. It is believed the dirt bike was travelling at "around 30mph", with worried passers-by left stunned by the "reckless act of stupidity".
A source told the Record this is not the first incident of reckless driving in the area and they have called on action before someone is hurt.
The source said: "There have been a lot of problems with reckless and antisocial driving in the Sighthill and Broomhouse areas of Edinburgh - and many other places.
"I've seen people street racing scrap cars and there have been several incidents of off-road bikes being ridden illegally and dangerously - but this was a new one to me.
"This guy is always out riding his dirt bike recklessly, but on this occasion it was slightly different. He had a passenger along for the ride.
"While doing a wheelie at 30mph, he had a young boy sitting with him, balanced on the fuel tank and his legs sticking out over the front wheel.
"I mean there is stupid and then there's stupid. It's one thing putting himself in danger- but now he's endangering a child? Not okay."
It's not believed the incident was reported to police.
Chief Inspector Mark Hamilton said: “We are aware of the negative impact and understandable community concerns resulting from the anti-social and reckless use of off-road motorcycles across the city. This behaviour will not be tolerated, and we have and will continue to work with colleagues, including Road Policing, to proactively prevent and address these concerns.
“I would encourage communities to report incidents via 101, and should anyone have information as to the identity of those placing communities at risk, this can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
