Pancake Day is fast approaching, and for many the idea of chucking the ingredients together in the pan and that halfway point flip is part of the charm. But have you considered air frying the popular treat?
Air fryers have seen a bit of an explosion in popularity in recent months, with everything from breads to cookies being made in the countertop devices. In fact, retailer Curry's reckons there has been a 350% increase year-on-year for air fryer sales.
But even the most hardened air-fryer fan might not have considered pancakes. If you do fancy having a go at air-fried pancakes, Curry's says this recipe makes the perfect Scotch pancake in just five minutes. All you need is:
- 1 tbsp of melted unsalted butter (14g)
- 200g self-raising flour
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1 egg
- 250ml of milk
- 2 tbsp of caster sugar
- Greaserproof paper
