Since JJ Watt walked off the field at Levi’s Stadium in the final game of his NFL career on Jan. 8, the former Cardinals defensive end has embraced retirement.
Watt is no longer focused on preparing for the next game or training camp during the months ahead of the next NFL season. Instead, the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year has used some of his time to poke fun at Tom Brady’s second retirement as well roast the NFL for still sending him messages asking him to submit to drug tests.
On Tuesday, Watt tweeted a text message from the NFL, asking the 33-year-old to take a drug test.
“This is Dillon on behalf of the NFL,” the text read. “You have been selected for a hgh dry blood spot test, please give me a call or shoot me a text when you can. Thank you.”
The recently retired star had the perfect reaction.
“I don’t know what happens when you click ‘Report Junk’ but I think I’m about to find out,” Watt tweeted.
Random drug tests are not uncommon among NFL athletes. Watt also received a request for a drug test on Dec. 19, a day after the Cardinals’ 24-15 loss to the Broncos.
“I think I’ve been ‘randomly selected’ after every 3 sack game of my career,” Watt tweeted back in December.
Clearly, Watt was not interested in the league’s latest request. The five-time Pro Bowler presumably is seeking to enjoy a life that does not involve the NFL probing into his dominance on the gridiron anymore.
Watt spent 10 seasons with the Texans before playing his last two with the Cardinals.
