Rebel Wilson slammed for new clothing line as she 'forgets about fat community'

Rebel Wilson has been called out by fans for 'forgetting about the fat community' after she failed to include plus size options for her latest loungewear brand.

The 42-year-old actress released her new range, R&R Club, with her partner Ramona Agruma earlier this month, offering expensive hoodies and sweatpants in sizes XS to XL.

Many people on social media have taken aim at the lack of inclusive sizes, with some saying she should have known better after 'knowing how hard it is to be fat'.

"Can we talk about the lack of size inclusivity in Rebel Wilson’s new brand??? wtf," influencer Destiny Ann asked in a video shared on TikTok.

She added: "I don’t understand how someone who is plus size for the majority of her career and the majority of her life — someone who knows hard it is to be fat, to shop for clothing and actually find it in your size — how someone with that background, that knowledge can release a brand that only goes up to an XL."

The TikTok user noted it was more expensive to offer a size inclusive range, but said: "It's Rebel Wilson, okay! She got money."

Captioning the video, Destiny wrote: "The irony of rebel dropping a clothing line that she wouldn’t have even been able to shop at a few years ago."

Another TikTok creator, Lacey-Jade Christie, also created a video and asked why Rebel had "forgotten" about her plus size fans.

She said: "I know she’s not fat anymore, but the fat community supported Rebel Wilson for her whole career. She profited off of being a fat person, a fat character."

Other fans jumped to defend Rebel, with one person commenting: "But why do brands have to cater for everyone? there are plus size shops that don't cater to smaller sizes."

Another pointed out that Rebel had already worked in plus size fashion: "Wait…didn’t she have a plus size brand back in the day? Or worked with another brand?"

Someone else suggested more sizes could be coming soon, commenting: "Pilot line? See if it sells at all and then expand?"

The Mirror has approached Rebel's representatives for comment.

Rebel embarked on a "year of health" back in 2020 and lost roughly 80 pounds. She came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community this summer and went public about her romance with Ramona.
