Rebekah Vardy reportedly told her previous agent that she would "love" to leak stories about fellow WAG Coleen Rooney in texts exposed to the High Court.
According to The Mirror, Rebekah - who is the wife of footballer Jamie Vardy - is going head to head with Wayne Rooney's wife Coleen in court after Coleen accused Rebekah of leaking her personal information to a newspaper.
Rebekah is suing Coleen for libel after a bombshell statement on social media which has since been dubbed 'Wagatha Christie'.
Coleen said that she set up her Instagram page so that it blocked all of her followers except Rebekah's account and she posted fake information to see if it went any further.
Rebekah denied that she was behind the information leaks and hit back in her own statement, saying that Coleen had caused her a lot of distress.
Now, her messages with her former agent Caroline Watt have exposed what she was saying behind the scenes.
The messages now disclosed to the High Court appear to suggest that Rebekah and Caroline had an ongoing relationship with reporters and saw them discuss how to leak stories to the tabloid.
The pre-trial hearing was also told that Rebekah had branded Coleen a "nasty b***h" and a "c***" and declared that she "needs to get over herself".
Coleen ran her own sting operation in 2019 when she posted three fake stories on a personal Instagram account followed by her friends and family.
After the stories made it into the news, she told the followers of her private account: "Someone on here is selling stories again to this scum of a paper. It’s sad to think someone who I have accepted to follow me is betraying [me] for either money or to keep a relationship with the press."
In texts shown to the court, Caroline is alleged to have acknowledged her role in it all, telling Rebekah: "Such a victim. Poor Coleen … And it wasn’t someone she trusted. It was me."
In January 2019, after Coleen posted a picture of damage to her car following a crash, Rebekah text Caroline saying: "She's a nasty b***h x. Would love to leak those stories x"
Caroline responded: "I would have tried to have done a story on Coleen but the evidence has been deleted."
Another message sent by Rebekah to Caroline - on February 6, 2019, read: "She thinks it's me that's been doing stories on her... That **** needs to get over herself! That's falling out material... I'm offended she thinks I did it.. What a joke!
"All I've ever been is nice to her though! Even when Wayne was being a **** x"
And after Coleen's famous post that included her conclusion "It's.... Rebekah Vardy's account", Rebekah texted Caroline to say: "That's war".
The pre-trial hearing was also told yesterday that a mobile phone belonging to Caroline was lost overboard a boat in Scotland when it slipped from her grasp after a wave hit.
Barrister David Sherborne, for Coleen, said it had happened days after a judge ordered that the phone should be examined.
Lawyers for Caroline said it was an accident that her phone had gone overboard.
Caroline’s legal representative said her denials are "clear and consistent".
They asked for the court to reject the claim bought against her, but added if it was to be heard it must be heard separately as it would not be fair on Caroline or realistic for the trial to take place in May.
Hugh Tomlinson, representing Rebekah, said Coleen has relied on "selective and incomplete Whatsap messages" to support her argument, while ignoring the messages which demonstrate Rebekah was not responsible, pointing to messages sent on February 6, where she’s shocked that Coleen suspects her of leaking stories.
In August, she messaged Caroline that she bet it was Coleen’s own PR leaking the information, adding: "I really can’t see anyone being that a**ed with selling stories about her."
