Rebekah Vardy's pals says WAG is 'tense' as she faces paying £4million for Wagatha case

Rebekah Vardy's pals reckon the WAG is feeling 'tense' as she faces paying a whopping £4million for the Wagatha Christie trial.

The wife of Leicester City player Jamie Vardy, 40, sued Coleen Rooney, 36, for libel earlier this year, but after losing the case has been ordered to stump up 90% of her rival's fees.

The WAG faces paying up to £1.5million for Coleen's legal costs, however she will also have to pay her own legal bill - which was put at £2,017,860, plus at least £200,000 of additional trial costs, according to reports.

Rebekah is now said to be concerned about the impending costs, with a source revealing: "Becky losing the libel trial is going to hit her pocket hard. Understandably she's not happy about it.

"Becky is waiting to find out how much more she'll be asked to fork out after her first payment.

"It's a tense time for her, especially when she just wants to draw a line in the sand and move on," reports The Sun.

The Mirror has contacted Rebekah's reps for comment.

The mum-of-four recently challenged Coleen to donate her legal win to charity.

Rebekah took to Instagram, posting: “Let’s hope you put your money where your mouth is and some good can come of this whole embarrassing spectacle.”

She also posted an image that said: “It’s always the ones with the dirty hands pointing the fingers."

However, a source close to the Rooneys told us: "It's a bit rich to be preaching about money when Coleen wanted to settle this before the costs started racking up."

Court papers show an initial £800,000 payment must be made by November 15.

Coleen's legal team have not yet produced a final total for their costs, but the last figure presented to the court was £1,667,860 – and 90% of that would be £1.5m if it remains unchanged. The final figure may be cut later.

In one of the most hotly followed trials in showbiz history, Coleen accused Rebekah of leaking stories about her to a paper after a 2019 sting.

Rebekah subsequently sued Coleen, claiming her now infamous post in which she 'outed' the mum-of-four had defamed her.

However, in July, High Court Judge Karen Steyn ruled Coleen proved her claim was “substantially true” and Mrs Vardy knew about disclosures by her ex-agent Caroline Watt.
