Rebekah Vardy reignites Coleen Rooney feud in furious attack ahead of I'm a Celebrity start

Rebekah Vardy has said she hopes her friend-turned-nemesis Coleen Rooney is forced to eat “bull’s penis, ostrich bum and humble pie,” on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Wayne Rooney’s wife is set to enter the jungle on the ITV reality series when it returns on Sunday, following in the footsteps of Ms Vardy - who was third to be eliminated in 2017.

The pair have locked horns since 2019 when Ms Rooney accused Ms Vardy, wife of the Leicester City footballer Jamie, of leaking her private information to the press.

This led to Ms Rooney being dubbed Wagatha Christie and subsequent legal proceedings were found in her favour, despite Ms Vardy maintaining her innocence.

ITV has now aired Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, a documentary about her libel case, giving her side of the story ahead of her appearance in the jungle.

Ms Vardy will be giving her thoughts too in a Sun column, which she has kicked off by stating she hopes her rival endures the most galling of challenges including “[eating] penis or humble pie”.

“Everyone seems to think I have this massive problem with Coleen going into the jungle,” she said.

“But do you know what? If you want to fan the fire, the flames are going to get higher.

"I wasn’t going to carry on talking about this, I had no intention of talking about it, but she clearly can’t let it go.”

Ms Vardy said she wonders whether Ms Rooney will become a fully-fledged member of the celebrity circuit on the back of I’m a Celeb, “appearing on Dancing on Ice”.

“I think she always wanted my life, she’s following in my footsteps,” she added.

Ms Rooney has four children with Wayne, the manager of Plymouth Argyle - who broke records for England and Manchester United in his playing career.

Speaking ahead of flying to Australia for the show, she said: “It has been year after year I have been asked to go on a programme and it’s always been a straight no.

“Over the years, there have been different things going on in my life, and also, my children have been really young. But they are at an age now where I can go away for this length of time.

“I also feel it’s time to have a challenge for me, and do something different. It has taken many, many years but I’m finally doing it.

“I have always said if I was going to do one, then it would be this show. I think it will be good for me.”
