Rebekah Vardy has ignored that her recent court case has hit the small screen in a new drama by enjoying some family time. The former Dancing On Ice star took to Instagram with a sweet festive snap hours before Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama aired on Channel 4.
The first part of the two-part series aired on Wednesday night (December 21) with the second to follow tonight (Thursday, December 22). Viewers were able to relive the famous 'Wagatha Christie' case from this summer, which has been created from the court transcripts, but many couldn't help laughing as the first part unfolded.
The first part showed WAG Rebekah, played by Harry Potter star Natalia Tena, taking to the stand as the drama explored the highly publicised court case that saw former Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney's wife Coleen, played by This Is England star Chanel Cresswell, allege that Rebekah had been leaking fake stories to tabloids in exchange for money after carrying out a 'sting' operation.
But before the details of the case were once again laid bare for everyone to see, Rebekah, the wife of Leicester City player Jamie Vardy, and four of her five children wrapped up warm for a group outing.
Rebekah, 40, could be seen huddled in between her children, Taylor, 11, Sofia, seven, Finley, four and Olivia, two, as they posed under a dazzling canopy of Christmas lights. "Christmas at Belton House," the mum-of-five captioned the post, referring to the Christmas at Belton event taking place at the country house in Lincolnshire.
@sarabrux said: "Lovely photo. You are so blessed be happy." @iamlisamaxted wrote: "What a gorgeous bunch!" @viki.knight shared: "Lovely Christmassy memory. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year." @marklindsay1711 commented: "Lovely photo Becky.....lots happy (cold) faces lol."
@annedaly66 shared: "Beautiful." @galleycraig posted: "Looking good sweetheart lovely family photo wishing you all a very merry Christmas and Happy New year." @steel_magnolia_rose added: "Precious!"
But while comments on Rebekah's post have been limited, one comment did creep in about the Channel 4 drama as @wiptcreamblond said: "Omg that actress playing you looks nothing like you." However, those following along live with the show didn't have much to say about the actress representing Rebekah in the drama - but did about Coleen.
Actress Chanel, who has starred as Kelly Jenkins in Shane Meadows' hit film and subsequent This Is England series, came under fire for her Liverpudlian accent. @gilmc fumed: "Omfg can someone tell this colleen actress spend a day in Liverpool her accent is embarrassing to all scousers everywhere #VardyvRooney."
@Kezarus1 commented: "Why is it so hard to hire Scouse actors to play Scousers? Rare you can find someone who can do a successful accent #VardyvRooney." @LouiseLacy laughed: "The fake Scouse accent is propa traumatising me yeno #VardyvRooney." @fromsarahlex added: "Why oh why do they get actors that can’t do a scouse accent properly? It makes me want to turn it off #VardyvRooney."
