Rebekah Vardy fires back after Wagatha Christie row mocked on I'm A Celebrity

Rebekah Vardy responded after her infamous Wagatha Christie feud with Coleen Rooney was referenced just moments into the first episode of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

First show hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly took aim at the legal battle, which saw her ordered to cover Coleen's legal costs after losing their high-profile libel case in 2022, joking: “It’ll be nice for Coleen to face a trial that doesn’t involve Rebekah Vardy.”

Ant then promised: “There will be plenty more [of these jokes]!”

The 42-year-old WAG was further mocked on the spin-off show I’m a Celebrity Unpacked - after also coming under fire on the main show.

Presenter Joel Dommett referred to the famous incident where Vardy’s agent “lost” her phone in the North Sea as part of her and Coleen Rooney’s High Court action. And he also joked about a “leak”.

He said of that night’s action: “We saw Coleen Rooney's boat sinking. It's not the first time she's had issues with a leak.

The WAG addressed the mocking on the show on her Instagram (Instagram/Rebekah Vardy)

“Don't worry I won’t be spending the next three weeks just doing jokes about Wagatha Christie. Everyone relax. This show is all about the camp action that will be delving deeper than a certain agent’s phone in the North sea.”

Vardy addressed the jokes made during Sunday’s ITV launch and appeared unfazed by the comments, taking to Instagram to post a throwback bikini photo from her own Jungle stint, captioned: “That feeling when you’re living rent-free in people’s heads [laughing emojis].”

She also shared a clip of Donald Trump discussing criticism, in which he says: “Let them doubt you, let them criticise you. The more they throw at you, the stronger you become. The path to success is never without resistance and hate. Hate is just a part of that journey.”

The clip continued: “Understand this, no one who ever achieved anything great did it without facing opposition. Hate comes from a place of fear, insecurity and jealousy.

Ant and Dec on Sunday’s I’m A Celeb (ITV)

“People hate because your ambition, your drive makes them uncomfortable. Your desire to push past limits threatens the comfort they built around mediocrity.

“So what should you do? Let them hate. Let their word be nothing more than background noise. You weren't put here to see their approval. You're not living your life to make them feel comfortable.

“You're here to follow your purpose, to chase your dreams and to live life on your own terms, you're beautiful.”

Vardy is no stranger to the ITV show having appeared on the 2017 installment, when she was third to be eliminated.

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! continues at 9pm
