Rebecca Ferguson 'just about surviving' as she sends message to people of Liverpool

Rebecca Ferguson has said she is "just about surviving" as she lifted the lid on her hectic schedule.

The mum-of-four thrilled fans when she issued a "surprise" announcement after she welcomed her new bundle of joy into the world on Valentine's Day. It was Rebecca's first child with her husband Jonny Hughes and fans congratulated her after the update.

The X Factor star appeared on Mondays Good Morning Britain ahead of a special Eurovision performance with Ukrainian singer, Alyosha, today. She told Ed Balls and Kate Garraway how she is coping with her demanding schedule as she juggles motherhood with her career as a performer.

She said: "I'm just about getting sleep. I'm just about surviving. It's hard, Kate, I'm telling you. I've got gaps between the kids and I've forgot how hard it was so I'm there breastfeeding the baby and then I'm getting my make-up on and I'm getting on stage. But it's all good. It's all fun and games."

The 36-year-old said she can't wait to perform in her home city as part of the international song contest today. Rebecca shot to stardom on season seven of X Factor and said she is eternally grateful to Scousers for their support throughout her career.

She said: "Liverpool has always been so supportive of me and, without the Liverpool people, I wouldn't be where I am. I'm really proud that I've been asked to represent them."

Alyosha represented Ukraine 13 years ago at Eurovision and finished 10th in the competition. Rebecca shared details of their performance as she said it was important that Ukraine is strongly presented in Liverpool's staging of the contest.

She said: "We want the message of the performance to be about love and unity, which is what Eurovision is about. "It's going to be a powerful performance really reflective on what's happening to the women in Ukraine."

She added: "I had a little wander around yesterday and what Liverpool has done in the city is amazing. the city is buzzing and it's got so much support for Ukraine.

"Liverpool Council have done an amazing job and everyone is just really keen to show off the city and show we can host Eurovision for Ukraine."
