State officials have announced that charges are being filed against a real estate agent for allegedly price gouging victims of the devastating wildfires in Southern California. The California Attorney General, Rob Bonta, revealed that the realtor, who remains unnamed, is accused of attempting to exploit a family who had been evacuated due to the Los Angeles Eaton Fire.
According to the investigation, the family, after being evacuated, sought rental options through their real estate agent and expressed interest in renting a home in Glendale. The realtor reportedly offered them a rental property in Glendale at a rent price that was more than 50% higher than the pre-fire rate.
