A whole host of UK reality TV stars were banned from taking pictures on the BRIT Awards red carpet on Tuesday night, it has been reported.
While some of the biggest names in the music industry including Adele, Sam Fender, and Ed Sheeran stormed the red carpet at the annual event at London's O2 Arena, a number of reality stars - including former Love Islanders - were shunned from taking snaps before the show kicked off.
ITV viewers saw snippets from the red carpet as Maya Jama, 27, Anne-Marie, 30, and Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse posed up a storm as they arrived on the red carpet.
However, BRITs bosses were adamant about 'putting their foot down' when it came to every reality TV star under the sun walking the red carpet.
"Organisers of the BRIT Awards want to keep the red carpet music based from now on," a source told OK! Magazine.
"They don’t want to have reality stars that are not involved in music walking the red carpet. They’ve put their foot down."
The revelation would explain why the likes of Maura Higgins, Laura Whitmore, and Jacqueline Jossa were not pictured on the red carpet of the prestigious music event.
Taking to her Instagram stories on the night, Irish bombshell and former Love Island babe Maura, 31, told her fans that she missed walking the carpet because she got stuck in heavy traffic.
"Guys, I have actually missed the red carpet, urm, because the traffic was crazy and I’m only just arriving," Maura told her adoring fans.
She later filmed herself inside the event as she fawned over Adele's incredible live performance of 'I Drink Wine'.
Much like Maura, former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa was also missing from the red carpet.
The 29-year-old was spotted looking glamorous on the way to event as she left her London hotel alongside her husband Dan Osborne.
The mum-of-two looked sensational in glitter jumpsuit which featured a mesh cloak embroidered with feathers.
Despite the organisers wanting to 'put their foot down' on reality stars posing on the official red carpet, former Love Island star Zara McDermott seemed to escape this guideline as she was photographed modelling a sizzling black satin gown.
The stunning reality TV star looked more like a Hollywood actress as she posed up a storm.
The Mirror has reached out to BRIT Awards 2022 organisers and an ITV spokesperson for comment.
