A real long-lasting relationship can be formed on Married At First Sight, according to a sex, dating and relationship expert.
Popular ‘sexpert’ Annabelle Knight says there’s no reason why the perfect match can’t be found on reality TV – ahead of a new explosive E4 series.
Back with a longer run of 30 new episodes, Married At First Sight UK is returning to television screens soon and Annabelle says we could see some life-long power couples.
Just two couples remain together from the 2021 series, one even has a baby on the way – but that’s two more than none – a hopeful statistic.
“Married at First Sight has some fantastic qualities, the new format really works for the show and is entertaining and insightful to boot,” Annabelle told the Mirror.
“Successful partnerships have been formed on previous series and there’s no reason why that can’t happen again.”
Annabelle really knows what she’s talking about when it comes to these things – it's the reason she landed the job as Love Island’s recent The Morning After expert.
She has been all over telly so has seen plenty of couples try to make it work.
Just how the name suggests, couples on Married At First Sight are propelled into a special partnership that takes most couples years to reach.
But for Annabelle, she reckons that even though the couples have only just met, it’s the effort that they both need to make for the magic to work.
"I don’t believe in ‘soulmates', or the ‘perfect match’,” she added. “However, I do believe in sharing common goals, working hard on your relationship, even if it’s with someone you’ve only just met!”
“I also believe in being open and accepting to trying new things,” she told the Mirror. “It’s couples' that share these qualities that have a far greater chance of making it work in the long run.”
The new Married At First Sight series promises to be “bigger and more dramatic”.
The couples will then say ‘I do’ after meeting each other for the first time, on their wedding day.
After the ceremony and celebrations are over, true love is well and truly put to the test, as they embark on a luxurious honeymoon, before moving in with each other and their fellow couples.
Relationships will be put under the microscope, by fellow brides and grooms at weekly dinner parties as well as by the experts, at recurring commitment ceremonies, where couples choose whether they want to stay in or leave the process.
All this and more will build to a dramatic series finale: glossy, high-stakes vow renewals, in which each couple must decide if they will recommit to their partner or go their separate ways, for good.
