Real Madrid confirmed on Thursday morning that one of its key starting players has suffered a stress injury to his left foot, just over three weeks before the Champions League final. The player, Aurelien Tchouameni, underwent tests by the Real Madrid Medical Services which revealed the injury. The club mentioned that his condition is 'pending evolution.'
Tchouameni played in the recent Champions League semifinal second leg against Bayern Munich, starting in a midfield role. Unfortunately, he had to be substituted due to the foot injury shortly after Bayern Munich scored, impacting his performance in the game.
