Real-life Super Mario Wonder Talking Flower will nag you to eat well like an overbearing parent

Nintendo Talking Flower on a living room background, with a "wait no" speech bubble.

If you had your eye on the Super Mario Wonder Talking Flower replica, you'll be able to take it home soon - but it seems as though this little guy has opinions about how you live your life.

A March 12 release date for the collectible has just been revealed as part of Nintendo's preview for Super Mario Wonder Switch 2 Edition, and pre-orders are live now at the My Nintendo Store. However, that's not the main point of interest. In the overview trailer, we got a much better idea of how this thing actually works following its reveal last year... and it apparently comes with what I can only describe as a "nag" feature.

Press the button on the base of the figure and he'll spout random phrases like "have you had lunch yet?" or "make sure you're getting your veggies!" like a particularly passive-aggressive personal trainer. In addition, it doesn't keep its thoughts to itself if you leave it alone. It'll talk of its own accord twice an hour with random phrases unless shut off (though, graciously, it keeps quiet at night).

His penchant for chaos doesn't stop there. Along with random phrases for different times of day (like when he describes night time as "thrilling," which is giving big "please let me show you my collection of severed doll heads" energy), he'll also yelp the time. Which he might get wrong. Yep, that won't be stressful at all if you're worried about making a morning meeting.

This chatty chap is $34.99, and pre-purchases are now live via the Nintendo store. They'll apparently pop up at other retailers soon.
