The Kardashian ladies are routinely accused of heavily editing their pictures before sharing snaps online, but sometimes America's most famous family keep it very real and share their relatable battles with the public.
Khloe Kardashian delighted fans earlier this week, thanks to the mum-of-two sharing a number of seemingly unedited images to her Instagram - including a bikini snap that revealed a hint of cellulite on the star's toned physique.
"Yas! A Kardashian with cellulite! I love this more natural version of you Koko," one of Khloe's followers gushed as the pictures became a talking point on Instagram.
While the Kar-Jenner dynasty may not exactly be about to ditch the filters and flattering angles forever any time soon, Kim Kardashian and co have actually shared their natural beauty and imperfections several times over the years - inspiring their fanbase as they do so.
Kim's Mexico holiday snaps
When Kim and Kourtney enjoyed a break in Mexico in 2017, the sisters stepped out in skimpy bikinis and showcased their incredible figures during their lavish getaway.
Unfiltered snaps showed a hint of cellulite on Kim's famous behind at the time - causing fans to praise the star for donning a thong and not worrying about such a minor thing when picking out beach attire.
Fans were quick to comment, saying it was important for young women to see what real bodies look like, even celebrity ones.
Praising her natural beauty, one fan wrote: "She has cellulite and body bumps like every other woman. She just looks human."
"This is how anybody looks unedited. Cellulite is so normal whatever size you’re at and it shows depending on lighting," said another.
While a third added: "As much as these pics hurt Kim to be released it was important for young women to see that Instagram does not reflect real life."
Kim's struggle with skin condition
Kim has been open about her struggle with psoriatic arthritis over the years and often shares snaps of her skin without a scrap of makeup on.
The SKIMS founder, 42, experienced her first psoriasis flare-up when she was 25 but it disappeared and only returned again when the mum-of-four was in her early thirties.
"For the past eight years, although the spots are unpredictable, I can always count on my main spot on my right lower leg, which consistently stays flared up," Kim once wrote on the Poosh website when opening up about life with the autoimmune issue.
"I have learned to live with this spot without using any creams or medication—I just deal. Sometimes I cover it up and sometimes I don’t. It doesn’t really bother me."
The aspiring lawyer was praised for sharing her experience and normalising psoriasis, as she added: "If you have psoriasis, you can’t let it ruin your life or get the best of you. You have to do what you can to make sure you are comfortable but not let it take over."
Wise words indeed.
Kourtney's cheeky bum photos
Poosh found Kourtney Kardashian often wins praise from fans for living in the moment and not worrying about camera angles and filters when posing for candid pictures.
In July 2021, the mum-of-three, 43, took to Instagram to share a cheeky snap of her bum in a thong bikini during a sunny break away - with no filters or photoshop work anywhere to be seen.
As she shares romantic PDA images with her rocker husband Travis Barker, Kourtney never worries about capturing the perfect picture - instead focusing on creating a happy memory.
"Travis always tells me every day, ‘You’re perfect,'" Kourtney confessed on an episode of The Kardashians last year.
"Like if I complain about any little thing, he’s like, 'You’re perfect, you’re so fine. You’ve never been better.’ So now I’m so into it.
"My a** is amazing. I’m so into my thicker body. I looked at photos of my body when I was so skinny and it was so cringy."
Kendall's acne battle
Kendall Jenner may be a famous supermodel but that doesn't mean the 27-year-old star doesn't have skin struggles like the rest of us.
The reality TV star has been praised over the years for discussing how she handles living alongside acne and often sharing snaps of her face without a scrap of makeup on.
As she was revealed as the face of acne treatment, ProActiv, Kendall opened up about her skincare battles on Instagram in 2019.
Kendall took part in the #10YearChallenge on the social media site and shared photo to highlight her acne breakouts as a teenager, explaining: "I was 13 and ran home crying everyday because people would stare at my skin.
"While there are much bigger problems happening in the world, suffering from acne for me was debilitating. It's something that I've dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure.
"We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post. I'd like to show a younger generation that not everything is perfect."
Kris' ageless beauty
As the matriarch of the Kar-Jenner family, Kris Jenner leads by example when it comes to being a relatable star.
Last year, the 67-year-old businesswoman appeared on an episode of The Kardashians without a scrap of makeup on, as she enjoyed an early-morning workout on her treadmill at home.
Later the same year, Kris took to social media completely fresh-faced as she gave fans a guide to her nighttime skincare routine during a promotional video for daughter Kim's skin-care line, SKKN.
"I am in my 60s and for me to find a new routine that really works is kind of amazing," she revealed as she appeared on camera makeup and filter-free
"I remember the first two days I did it, I came downstairs at my house and my cousin walked in the room and said, 'Wow! What did you do to your skin?'"
"So I knew that Kim was onto something and I just wanted to share my little routine with you and you're going to love it too. So here we go," Kris added before revealing the secrets to her ageless beauty.
Postpartum bodies
Kylie Jenner, youngest of the Kar-Jenner ladies, wowed fans last year as the mum-of-two normalised postpartum bodies after welcoming her second child into the world.
The reality TV star, who shares two young children with Travis Scott, was lauded for "normalizing normal bodies" when she shared a photo of her stomach with her baby son's feet resting on it shortly after giving birth.
"As a mommy, I love the rawness of this picture. The stretched skin, the postpartum tummy, the little extra weight. I just love it," one fan wrote on reddit as Kylie shared the candid shots on Instagram.
"I love that she posted this. Normalizing normal bodies," another added, as a third declared: "For women who have such big platforms, this is the type of content we need from them! I love this so much."
Another fan declared: "Honestly, this is probably the most beautiful picture she's ever posted."
