WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden signed a proclamation on Tuesday creating the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument in Chicago and two sites in Mississippi.

  • The Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ, 4021 S. State St, where the funeral of the 14-year-old Chicago youth was held following a brutal race-related murder after he was lynched in Mississippi, where he was visiting relatives.
  • Graball Landing, where his body was found.
  • The Tallahatchie County Second District Courthouse, where an all-white jury quickly exonerated men accused of Till’s murder - which they later admitted to committing.
