This year's local election results for the Liberal Democrats were described as a "relief" overall by re-elected group leader at Cardiff Council, Rhys Taylor.
The Cardiff Council member for Gabalfa said it is a relief that the party does not seem to be losing as many seats as it has done in the past. However, in Cardiff the party has seen a slight drop - picking up 10 seats this year compared to 11 in the 2017 elections. The Conservatives saw the biggest losses at Cardiff Council, going from 20 seats to just 11.
