JAIPUR: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a fund of 15 crore to Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) to make payments and organise tournaments with an eye on the upcoming domestic season 2024-25.
"We are giving account numbers of the match officials and players to the BCCI and they will directly transfer the remuneration to them. This payment is included in the fund sanctioned to us," stated RCA ad-hoc committee coordinator Jaideep Bihani on Sunday.
Almost a month back, one of the ad-hoc panel members Dharmveer Singh Shekhawat had met BCCI secretary Jay Shah during an informal meeting and requested him to issue funds to 'hold camps and tournaments' in the lead up to the 2024-25 season.
Coordinator Bihani also shared that the committee would hold the RCA elections 'by the end of August'.
He also shared that in their last meeting, representatives of Vedanta's Hindustan Zinc Limited asked them to restart the construction work of the new RCA Jaipur stadium as soon as possible. "Their concern is regarding the construction work, and they asked us to quickly get it started. Their CSR fund will lapse, so they want to use that money here. But currently our priority is to ensure that RCA elections are held in the first place," said Bihani.
Meanwhile, a three-day state-level curator and groundsmen seminar concluded at the RCA Academy which saw participation from all the district cricket associations of the state. Also, the state-level Under-19 tournament kicked-off in Bikaner where Jaisalmer and Tonk registered victories on the first day.
