On the eve of the Academy Awards, the Razzies have again "honoured" the worst movies and film performances of the year, with Diana: The Musical and Space Jam: A New Legacy receiving the most Golden Raspberries.
Diana: The Musical was awarded five Razzies for Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay (Joe DiPietro and David Bryan), Worst Actress (Jeanna de Waal), Worst Director (Christopher Ashley) and Worst Supporting Actress (Judy Kaye).
The musical's script was singled out for special attention, particularly lyrics that rhymed "Camilla" with "Manila" and "gorilla".
NBA star LeBron James received a Worst Actor award for his starring role in Space Jam: A New Legacy, as well as receiving Worst Screen Couple along with "Any Warner Cartoon Character (or WarnerMedia Product) He Dribbles On" in the film.
Space Jam: A New Legacy also received a Razzie for Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.
Oscar winner Jared Leto received the Worst Supporting Actor Razzie for his widely panned portrayal of Paolo Gucci in Ridley Scott's House of Gucci.
Unsurprisingly, Bruce Willis received the Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie Razzie for his performance in Cosmic Sin.
On a more positive note, four-time Razzie winner Will Smith received the Razzie Redeemer award for his Academy Award-nominated portrayal of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams's father Richard Williams in King Richard.
Voting Razzie Members cast their ballots online for the 40th annual Razzie Awards after nominations were announced last month.
The Razzies have been awarded annually since 1980, with some actors and filmmakers appearing at the ceremony to receive their gongs.
Recently entertainment news magazine Variety reported that the founder of the awards expressed regret for nominating Shelley Duvall for Worst Actress that year for her performance in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, given the director's treatment of the actress on the film set.
