Razorlight first act announced for Leopardstown summer concerts

UK indie favourites Razorlight are the first band to be announced as part of this summer’s Bulmers Secret Orchard Live at Leopardstown 2022.

The chart topping band recently reunited and are just one of four headliners to be announced as part of the series of shows.

Bulmers Secret Orchard Live at Leopardstown has previously welcomed a slew of top international acts including Coolio in 2019, Happy Mondays in 2018, Sister Sledge in 2017 and Boomtown Rats in 2016.

CEO of Leopardstown Racecourse Tim Husbands said: "What an act to lead our announcement in Razorlight!

"We cannot wait to have a full crowd cheering and singing after racing in the summer sun here at Leopardstown and there’s great excitement as we announce what we believe is the best ever line up."

Much like other years, the performances will be preceded by plenty of racing action.

A wide selection of ticket options are available including the Summer Sizzler, which costs €43 and gives attendees admission to the racing and concert, Bulmers (or soft) drink, €10 festival food voucher and €5 tote bet to A La Carte Dining in the 1888 Restaurant.

Tickets are on sale now from www.leopardstown.com. Exclusive competitions will also take place on Leopardstown Racecourse's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

Speaking about Razorlight's reunion, Andy Burrows said: "It feels incredible. We've spent the past week or two rehearsing. Playing these songs has been an absolute joy.

"The emotions that were going through me when we started playing America, I forgot to play the first half of the song. It was totally nuts. It's been amazing. It’s so powerful playing these old tunes. It’s very, very special."

Frontman Johnny Borrell adds “I'm really enjoying reconnecting with Andy and Carl, it’s like getting to know people again. I'm enjoying it because you never want to lose friends.

"It’s a horrible thing to think. It doesn't really make sense. It definitely feels good to me on a personal level. On a creative level - amazing. We've been in the studio rehearsing and recording. As soon as the four of us are in the room, it just sounds amazing, straight away."
