Raygun Busted Out Her Iconic Moves During Tones And I’s Concert In Melb & Some Fans Are Divided

Olympic Games icon Dr Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn has surprised fans by serving up some fresh moves at Tones and I’s gig in Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena. However, some folks aren’t too keen on her return to the spotlight.

After weeks upon weeks of memes and roasts stemming from her viral performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Breaking event, the 37-year-old B-Girl has finally made her way back to the stage to bust a move.

Despite the constant naysayers, Raygun danced the night away over the weekend at a Tones and I gig in Melbourne. During her time on centre stage, the Olympian performed a number of moves, including her famous Kangaroo pose, before jumping into some choreography.

Following her stellar comeback, the “Dance Monkey” singer can be heard saying, “Please give it up for an Australian icon, the most iconic breakdancer there is, Raygun,” which was followed by cheers and applause from the audience.

Although Raygun’s brief stint in the spotlight was very wholesome (IMO), the Olympian’s shenanigans received a mixed bag of reactions from punters.

“Love that you celebrated this young woman – she deserves nothing less #womensupportingwomen,” one person commented on Raygun and Tones and I’s collaboration post.

“Crazy how someone who’s got zero talent is becoming so popular,” another fan wrote.

“Please don’t encourage her!” wrote a third.

The B-Girl’s surprise return comes days after she shook the sporting world by announcing her retirement from competitive Breaking on 2DayFM’s Jimmy & Nath.

“I still break, but I don’t compete. I’m not going to compete any more. No. No,” the B-Girl shared.

“I was going to keep competing, for sure, but that seems really difficult for me to do now to approach a battle.”

Raygun’s announcement received worldwide attention. However, during an appearance on The Project, Raygun joked that it wasn’t her who was retiring, but instead, it was Aussie broadcaster Ray Hadley.

Honestly, it’s quite impressive that she’s still kicking it and trying to do her own thing despite all the hate she’s copped in the last couple of months.

Kudos to ya, Raygun.
