A new spinoff series of the popular Showtime drama Ray Donovan is in the works and is set to premiere on Paramount+. Titled The Donovans, the series will consist of 10 episodes and is scheduled to debut later this year exclusively for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan.
The Donovans will follow a family of elite fixers in Europe, navigating through high-stakes situations that put their fortunes and reputations on the line. The series promises odd alliances, betrayals, and unpredictable twists as the family grapples with the uncertainties of their business.
The original Ray Donovan series concluded in January 2020 after a successful seven-season run. Starring Liev Schreiber as the titular character, the show garnered a dedicated fan base before its cancellation in February following the seventh season finale. Schreiber later reprised his role in the 2022 feature film Ray Donovan: The Movie.
The Donovans will be helmed by renowned director Guy Ritchie, who will also serve as an executive producer. The series is penned and produced by screenwriter and novelist Ronan Bennett, known for his compelling storytelling.
