The Baltimore Ravens’ wide receiver room will be scrutinized closely this season. On Wednesday night, we learned that Tayvion Robinson won’t be there.
According to an official team announcement, the undrafted free agent has been waived.
The only bright spot for Robinson is that at least this happened early in the summer, so his agent still has plenty of time to try and get him into another training camp.
Last season, his second at Kentucky after three at Virginia Tech, Robinson had 41 catches for 552 yards.
Throughout his college career, Robinson had 94 receptions for 2,604 yards and 14 touchdowns. Robinson’s being waived is obviously good news for all the Ravens wide receivers on the fringe who are long shots at making the team.
Some exciting stories are developing in this part of the depth chart.
Unless Baltimore signs another receiver, converted quarterback Malik Cunningham and Qadir Ismail, son of Ravens legend Qadry Ismail, will now have one less guy to compete against.
