The Baltimore Ravens hosted the Tennessee Titans for their first preseason game of 2022 on Thursday night, coming away with their 21st consecutive exhibition game victory by the final score of 23-10. Baltimore’s ability to have playmakers on all sides of the ball is a great thing to have, especially when the team has so much depth.
During the game, Ravens safety Geno Stone made a spectacular interception during the fourth quarter. The safety caught a ball that bounced off Tennessee wide receiver Mason Kinsey while falling to the ground.
Following the contest, Stone spoke with the media. When asked about the play and the celebration with his teammates, Stone said the football gods were on his side.
“It was crazy, because before I walked out for the drive, I told them I was going to get a pick, and I said we’re going to come celebrate on the sidelines. I had two opportunities before that; I missed the one on the out, and then I broke the one up in the end zone, and then I finally got that last one. So, it was like the football Gods were just trying to give me a pick so I could go celebrate with my teammates.”
In two seasons, Stone has played in 17 games, starting in one. The safety is looking to make the final 53-man roster and have an increased role on the Baltimore defense, two things that he took a big step closer to doing in Thursday’s performance.
