The 2024 Summer Olympics are in full swing, with the quadrennial competition festival appealing to athletes across the sporting spectrum.
Several sports directly influenced the creation of American football, with rugby obviously at the top of the list. Ilona Maher is a star for the American women’s team, and she has been getting it done during the Paris games.
One dominating run drew a lot of attention, as well as an analogy to Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry.

The stiff arm that Maher displayed has been referred to as Derrick Henryesque.
The King was shown a video of the run during practice on Monday and asked to give his thoughts.
“Oh yeah, she got it,” Henry said.
“The mindset, running strong and hard, not trying to go down- get in to the end zone, by any means.
“I love it, made me want to get out there too.”
Team USA defeated Great Britain 17-7 in the Olympic quarterfinals on Monday.
This marked the first time that either the men’s or women’s American rugby team had ever reached the Olympic semifinals.
